Established in 1908, Daarnhouwer has been sourcing Indonesian Arabica and Robusta coffee for over 100 years. Currently we are trading all qualities of Indonesian Arabica to North America, Europe, Africa and the Middle East. This includes several different varieties of Sumatra, Java, Timor, Bali, and Flores. Daarnhouwer holds exclusive marketing rights on specific varieties of single estate Sumatra and Java coffee.
Most of our coffees hold several certificates on sustainability, issued by organisations such as Fair Trade, Organic and the Rainforest Alliance.
To maintain maximum control over quality, Daarnhouwer operates a warehouse in Medan, North Sumatra. This storage facility is entirely independent and has no ties with any other coffee operation in Indonesia. This enables us to inspect every single bag before it is shipped. Daarnhouwer is the only international trade company with its own warehouse in Medan.
Daarnhouwer's long history in Indonesia has enabled us to be involved in government and private investment projects, which are created throughout Indonesia's coffee growing areas. These projects help established farmers flourish and enable first-time farmers to cultivate new growing areas. These projects provide financing support, land grants, free coffee seedlings, agronomical and agricultural advice, and other means of assistance to help stimulate the production of top quality Indonesian coffee.
